Personality:
I'm a somewhat-random person on
the internet and with friends, but that's the result of my J-rock fangirlism.
Because
of my interest in foreign culture and my dislike of rap or Hip-Hop (from
America), I've turned to Asian and European music.
Music is my life, I can't live without it. It is the only thing that can
keep me sane no matter what the circumstances. In addition
to music, I love singing, also.
I take pride in breaking away
from social stigma and racial stereotypes and just being my own person.
Being home schooled
all my life and going to Community College now, I don't have peer pressure, so
all my 'abnormalities' as an African-American
just came to me as unique interests. I never thought they were 'abnormal'
or uncommon to start with, until I could never find
African-Americans like myself who like mainly Japanese things. I ask
myself all the time why racial stereotypes or social
normality's should determine whether you are 'normal' or not.
Music Taste:
My music taste is very flexible.
I pretty much listen to anything NOT from America or Mexico (I can't stand the sound of Mexian Spanish), my favorite type of music is,
of course, Japanese and Pagan Rock.
I listen to as much J-pop as J-rock and Namie was one of my first J-pop artists.
My first J-rock band was Dir en grey, who are very precious to me.
While I adore Namie to death, I'm a proud J-rock fangirl. I also have an ear for classical music
and I am particularly fond of Tchaikovsky.
